Why does it say my VIN is invalid?
In 1981, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration of the United States standardized the format. It required all on-road vehicles sold to contain a 17-character VIN, which does not include the letters I (i), O (o), and Q (q) (to avoid confusion with numerals one (1) and zero (0)).
The VIN system contains a hidden mathematical code to allow us to know if there is a mistake or typo.
if you get an error that your vin is invalid or fails the checksum, it would be important to determine which letter you read incorrectly.
or it may be that your vehicle is not from North America (say Germany) and they did not follow the same VIN system.
